Mission Accomplished

It’s time to be gathering in the garden … not just flowers, but seeds too. Several plants are feeling very self-satisfied that they have fulfilled their mission for the season and set seed.

Columbine isn’t very attractive now, but it promises future beauty as it disperses its fruit. Larkspur would appreciate it if you’d gather some of its seed and carry it to other sections of your garden. It won’t be too long before Grandaddy’s whiskers (Cleome) will ask the same of you.

Nigella, lily bulblets, poppy, allium, arum ….. so many success stories among the seedheads!

Good going, garden! …. be fruitful and multiply.
